India Fashion Week Australia 2022

After a two-year in person hiatus Meilluer Events are delighted to announce the return of its inaugural 2019 event, India Fashion Week Australia. This grand and distinctive multi-cultural fashion event will be held in the Victory Room at Marvel Stadium on October 30^th, 2022. The event will showcase world renowned Indian and Southeast Asian designers, including Ivan Tran, Saisha Shinde, Archana Kochhar providing a unique opportunity for fashion creatives to gain international exposure by presenting their creations on foreign shores to different markets. India Fashion Week Australia aims to elevate the potential of local emerging designers as well as to showcase international designers. Meilleur Events is an established events company run by respected Bollywood actor, Vishwajeet Pradhan and his wife, former fashion designer Sonalika Pradhan. The event will be choregraphed by revered Indian fashion veteran, Shakir Shaikh. The event will also showcase local designers including Viccola, Miras, Young Designers Gallery and making their debut at IFWA, will be local new talent Supernova Collection Co and Kruz La Mode Fashion.

This year India Fashion Week Australia’s program will include:

• A high fashion runway show featuring the following international designers:

  • Indian fashion designer Archana Kochhar is a high celebrity fashion designer from India who has showcased her collection for over a decade at national and international fashion shows. Having revolutionized the bridal arena with her glamorous looks, Indian and contemporary silhouettes, and craftsmanship, Archana has slowly carved a niche for herself. Archana has been invited by places such as Galleries Lafayette Paris to showcase her spectacular collections alongside design houses such as Kenzo, Christian Lacriox, Ungaro and Nina Ricci.

  • Ivan Tran is one of Vietnam’s top young designers who shot to fame after his debut on Project Runway Vietnam in 2015. He focuses on creating unique, futuristic styles as recently unveiled in his runway show at Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week 2021 and Thailand Fashion Week in June 2022.

  • Saisha Shinde is India’s first transgender fashion designer. A NIFT graduate she kick started her designing career on India’s successful reality show Lakme Fashion House, and since then has designed clothes for huge Indian names including Miss Universe India 2022, Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. She also designed for various Hindi films as well as participating as a contestant on Project Runway America Season 14, in 2015.

• One of event centrepieces will be the fashion awards curated by a respected panel of judges to be announced in the coming weeks.

• The event will also feature live music, and an exciting ‘GenNext’ segment for emerging new brands

• IFWA will also introduce a special children’s event titled ‘Little Star Runway’ presented by Vicoola, giving fashion loving children a chance to walk in the runway show. The best child model will be awarded and given the chance to walk the international runway for the show.

• The event will be televised with repeats on MTV India International feed as well as Colors TV and Zee TV APAC in India.

India Fashion Week Australia is also proud to announce their chosen charity partner this year will The Pat Cronin Foundation. There will be a live auction on the night for the charity, as they continue their work to achieve their vision to provide an optimistic voice and empowering approach to awareness, education and research—working with schools, clubs, community groups and young people to End the Coward Punch together.
