Canadian Dr Stephen Mulholland, one of the top 10 plastic surgeons in the world
World-renowned plastic surgeon in Australia to unveil major advancements in delaying the aging process
Canadian Dr Stephen Mulholland, considered one of the top 10 plastic surgeons in the world, is in Sydney this weekend to unveil the most advanced innovations for non-invasive cosmetic treatments that help people delay the ageing process in their lunch break.
“Technology is now so advanced that many people are no longer choosing to go under the knife, instead they are using radio frequency heat to pinpoint loose skin and fat, to tighten skin tissue,” said Dr Mulholland, who is a pioneer in aesthetic plastic surgery with 25 years experience.
“They come in for a quick treatment in their lunch break and see a noticeable improvement when they walk away, there’s little to no downtime,” he added.
“The trend is to start these treatments earlier – with many beginning in their early 20s to retain their youthful appearance. While those older who feel they have left it too late are still turning back the aging clock, but may have to have a few more treatments than if they started earlier.
“Face jowls - the sagging skin beneath the jawline - and reducing wrinkles as well as stretch marks are the most common blemishes people want help with.
“Botox and microdermabrasion are still hugely popular with women but the new Morpheus8, which uses radio frequency heat waves, has become one of the most in demand treatments.
“Celebrities like Kim Kardashian are using it, and now the technology is growing in Australia, proving to be just as popular here.
“Interestingly, in the US people love to tell others what they're doing to their skin to stay young without going under the knife - it’s become a badge of honour compared to a decade ago when it was a deep dark secret and Australia is following on that path.
“Morpheus8 has the deepest heat profile compared to any other device on the market, enabling radio frequency to target layers under the skin and triggering a healing process, while activating collagen.
“The device has a programmable penetration depth of 0.5-7mm with an additional 1mm heat profile making it easier to target the areas of concern and reducing the need for downtime.”
“It is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, pore size reduction, overall skin concerns, and face and body re-modelling in areas such as the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks.”
“Technology advancements are moving so quickly, I think we will actually be looking at cellular and targeted cellular rejuvenation a decade from now.”
